The Financial Divorce - About the Authors

This book is the result of a project undertaken by a husband and wife team, David and Michele Kane.  Both experienced divorces before remarrying and found that the resources dealing specifically with the financial aspects of a divorce were lacking.  Through a number of personal experiences and in advising many individuals through the divorce process, they recognized that the typical family law attorney is not well versed in the complex financial aspects that are a part of today’s divorce proceedings.  David and Michele realized that there was a need for a comprehensive guide to help educate and empower individuals in divorce financial matters.  They have watched clients, coworkers, friends and family members make costly financial mistakes during their divorces that they later regretted.  For someone going through the traumatic experience of divorce, it is especially tragic to make financial mistakes that will impact his or her life for many years.  To that end, David and Michele created “The Financial Divorce – Your Guide to Financial Divorce Knowledge” to fill the gap of financial knowledge and to provide a platform to put together a sound financial plan for your new independent future.
